This young couple is simply stunning as they await the arrival of their precious little girl. This mini maternity session was part of a combination Maternity & Newborn package the couple had purchase for themselves and their sweet first born. I was so honored they had chosen me.
As a mini maternity session, the couple chose to have their session in the studio for some romantic shots of the two of them together. Mom was all aglow, and dad radiated pride and love for her. It was a beautiful scene for certain, as you can see by the images below. Beautiful memories captured. I can not wait for their little angel to be here.
This precious family had such a cold dreary day for photos. I made sure ahead of time to ask if they wanted to reschedule as I worried for their sweet little girl, but momma insisted that she would be alright and they were ready for photos. And I'm so glad that she did insist. The day was cold, but began to clear up just as we started to take photos. This created a bit of warmth, but even better...a magical sunset. We couldn't have asked for a better day, and I am in love with how all of their photos turned out.

A Maternity Mini session is new for my studio. I don't normally do Mini sessions for maternity unless there are special circumstances. However, I made an exception this time for this beautiful momma and her amazing family that just wanted a few photos to celebrate her special pregnancy in addition to their newborn session coming up. After this amazing session....I think a Mini Maternity add-on to a newborn session will be something you will be seeing more of.
This beautiful family's images came out amazing and momma looks like a goddess in her portraits! She has such a handsome family to boot. But seriously...check out that stunning baby belly! Another little boy will be arriving here soon and I just can't wait to see his precious little face. If he is as adorable as his big brothers it will surely be another amazing session.

I think I might cry just typing this, but here it goes...
So, in February, this sweet little family, who has been clients for years, came to one of our Valentine Mini Days with some special news. You see Miss Kathie and her husband Mr. Jim are foster parents, and they had just found out the adoption date for their adorable little girl Miss Katherine. I cried when they told me. It was the highlight of my day.
They have been parents to this little girl since she was just days old, and I have had the honor of photographing her since she was just 3 months old. This was the best news, and I couldn't imagine any better parents for her.
Then just two weeks ago, Miss Kathie emails me out of the blue to see if I have any availability to photograph this special time in their lives. OMG! I was blown away. OF COURSE I WILL! Totally honored to be asked and told her I would make room even if I didn't have the room.
Luckily, her adoption day was wide open and I got to be there for the whole event. It was magical to witness this amazing family grow by two little pink feet.
Enjoy just a few of the images captured at this Adoption event.

A while ago I put a call out for a model so I could play around with lighting and poses. This beautiful momma and her hubby stepped up to the challenge. This mini modelling session for maternity came out AMAZING! I think I'm in love with
every image from this session. And now I can't hardly wait to get
their precious little girl into the studio to see what we come up with
then. I'm sure it will be gorgeous and full of love.

*Squeal* Sir Kael is 2 years old and back in my studio! Woo Hoo! I get so excited over this little dude as he has been one of my little clients since he was in his mommy's tummy. His sweet smile and personality always makes me laugh. Seriously! His facial expressions and personality are just something else, and I live to capture his silliness. So whenever I see he is coming up on my calendar I just giddy.
Now...his mom is awesome! No joke! She is always coming up with amazing themes for her kiddos portraits. This year...CARS! Gotta love a car theme. And she came by and dropped of a big old box full of license plates...ummm...awesome! These old plates made for the perfect backdrop to start our session, but to end it...we had to go outside with his favorite vehicle...mom's truck!
The images truly turned out amazing. I hope you enjoy looking through just a few of my faves from this fun Birthday Session.

I love photographing friends. But I really love photographing friends births! So when Miss Jessica Benson of Jessica B Photography asked me to please come and photograph her 5th home birth, I was ridiculously excited!
After a couple discussions with her, I found out she has pretty fast and easy labors....and I am 45 minutes away. Yikes! So I made sure to have everything prepped and ready to go at a moments notice. What I don't think she or I had prepared for was little man to come earlier than her other babies, and faster than her other babies.
I got a text around 4am to let me
know she is in labor and to get ready. Not a problem! I was ready and started to get up and pack up. A call to come quickly came in just 10 minutes
later, and I was already walking out the door at 4:15am.
By the time I get there just after 5am....baby is already out and looking around the room with a sign outside saying "It's a boy!" Even, her midwife, the lovely Margie Dacko, didn't make it to this speedy delivery. Ha! Sir Evan was definitely in a BIG hurry to make his presence known!
So...I missed the dad catching his son photos, the eldest daughter being her doula, the first breath and cry....and I'm totally bummed out. On the flip side though, I stayed to get the first nursing session photos, bonding of baby and siblings, big sister cutting the cord, daddy snuggles, grandma snuggles....and so many more lovely "first" photos from this beautiful birth.
